SAMRIDH: Startup Accelerators of Meity for Product Innovation, Development, and Growth (SAMRIDH)


The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched an initiative called the SAMRIDH Scheme to support and accelerate the growth of startups in the country. The scheme is designed to provide financial and technical support at the early stages of development. 

Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) 

The Startup India initiative focuses on building a robust Start-up ecosystem by nurturing and creating opportunities for budding entrepreneurs in the country. The action plan is to provide financial assistance to early-stage startups. The seed fund will be disbursed to eligible startups by qualified incubators. 

For the startup to avail and reap the benefits, it should be recognized by DPIIT and incorporated up to two years before the application. The entrepreneur should have a business idea to develop the product or service with a market fit and scope of scaling. Technology should be used in the core product, service, business, or distribution model. Shareholding by Indian promoters in the startup should be at least 51% at the time of application and should not have received more than ten lakhs of financial support from the Central or State Government. 

Startups creating innovative solutions in social impact, waste management, water management, financial inclusion, education, agriculture, food processing, biotechnology, healthcare, energy, mobility, defense, space, railways, oil and gas, textiles, etc., would be preferred. 

Women entrepreneurship platform 

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), a concept of the NITI Aayog, intends to bring together women from all across the country through a single entry point to assist them in accomplishing their entrepreneurial ambitions. The platform's guiding principle is "Women First, Prosperity for All.” Women entrepreneurs who meet the following requirements are eligible under this scheme: 

  • Women who have a business concept/idea 

  • Women entrepreneurs at the ideation stage or established start-ups, 

Atal Innovation Mission 

The Atal Innovation Mission, a Startup India Scheme, was introduced by NITI Aayog in 2016. The organization formed this initiative to promote innovation by developing new programs and policies to encourage growth in several economic sectors. It offers a platform for the collaboration of numerous entrepreneurs. The approved companies receive approximately $10 crores in financing from AIM over five years. New health, agriculture, transportation, and education organizations can apply for this program.
